CARBONDALE, Pa. (AP) - An official says an off-duty police officer was involved in a shooting death in northeastern Pennsylvania.

The (Scranton) Times-Tribune (https://bit.ly/20GIlvM ) reports that police in Lackawanna County were called to a Carbondale location just after 8:30 p.m. Tuesday after a man in his 30s was shot.

Mayor Justin Taylor confirmed that an off-duty officer was involved but declined to provide additional details.

Chief Deputy Coroner Jesse Van Deusen declined to release the victim’s identity, saying next of kin had not been notified.
