THIBODAUX, La. (AP) - University officials say renovations to the Nicholls State’s theater and radio and TV stations are on pace to be complete later this spring.

Construction for the nearly $6.7 million project began in August.

Facilities Manager Stan Silverii tells The Daily Comet (https://bit.ly/1UJEni4) most of the project will be complete by the middle of May with a final completion expected in June.

The Mary M. Danos Theater will reopen toward the end of the summer as a 400-plus seat arena, with new speakers, lighting, curtains, flooring, walls and ceiling.

The project will also include a new roof for Talbot Hall, renovations to the lobby and improvements to Nicholls’ television and radio studios. The radio station is broadcasting, but the TV station is off the air until summer.
