PHILADELPHIA (AP) - Philadelphia police have been trying to find a drive who hit a mother and two young children before speeding away.

Police say the 30-year-old woman, her 5-year-old daughter and infant won were crossing Dickinson Street at Broad Street when they were hit shortly before 1 p.m. Tuesday.

Police aren’t releasing the mother’s name, but say she was taken to Hahnemann Hospital where she was in critical but stable condition with head injuries. Her infant son, which was strapped into a baby carrier, suffered scrapes to his head.

The little girl was launched up onto the hood of the car and thrown into the street. The little girl suffered a broken leg and both children have been listed in stable condition.

Police believe the car that hit them is a red 2001 Honda Accord.
