ROCHESTER, N.H. (AP) - Authorities say a 44-year-old man died following an early morning fight outside a New Hampshire bar over the weekend.

Foster’s Daily Democrat reports (https://bit.ly/208W9Nm ) James Unfonak was pronounced dead Monday afternoon.

Rochester police say they responded to Gary’s Sports Bar around 1:30 a.m. Sunday for a report of an altercation in the parking lot. Unfonak was taken to Maine Medical Center in Portland, Maine, where he later died.

Police say the incident is still under investigation. Capt. Gary Boudreau declined to comment on whether charges would be filed.

Unfonak’s girlfriend says a man tried to pick a fight with him inside the bar and was kicked out. She says the man was waiting outside and threw a punch at Unfonak, who fell and hit his head.
