MANSFIELD, La. (AP) - A private school administrator, who’s also a retired fire chief, has been arrested, accused of having inappropriate contact with a 13-year-old girl.

KTBS-TV reports (https://bit.ly/20abPQt ) 58-year-old David Manning, of Mansfield, was booked Wednesday into the DeSoto Parish Detention Center on a charge of molestation of a juvenile and released on $20,000 bond. It was unknown if he has an attorney who could comment on his behalf.

Manning is employed as headmaster at Central School in Grand Cane. The alleged victim is not a student at the school.

Detectives began investigating Dec. 8, finding that the alleged crime occurred several years ago and involved lewd and lascivious acts involving a juvenile.

Manning retired three years ago as chief of DeSoto Fire District 8, the largest fire protection district in the parish.
