ENTERPRISE, Utah (AP) - The rescue of a couple who became stranded in a snowstorm in southwest Utah had a less than happy ending as one of the people was arrested.

Washington County Sheriff’s Sgt. David Crouse says search and rescue crews went looking for the couple after a 911 caller on Tuesday said they had been stranded possibly since Friday.

Deputies found the two partially clothed about one mile south of Enterprise. While the deputies waited for the pair to dress a sock containing a pipe with suspected methamphetamine residue was knocked outside the vehicle.

One of the two was arrested on investigation of possession of methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of a weapon by a restricted person, simple assault and providing false information to an officer.
