BENTON, Ark. (AP) - The Saline County Sheriff’s Office says a county jail inmate has escaped.

The sheriff’s office says 29-year-old Jeffrey Mays walked away from a work detail that was cleaning an area Wednesday in Saline County on the outskirts of southwest Little Rock.

Officials say Mays was wearing an orange jumpsuit and a bright yellow reflector vest. He’s described as white, about 5 feet 6 inches tall and 190 pounds with brown hair and brown eyes.

Mays was being held on two counts of failure to appear.
