SUMTER, S.C. (AP) - The Sumter County Sheriff’s Office has charged a 29-year-old Sumter man with murder following the death of another man wounded in a December shooting incident.

The Sumter Item reported (https://bit.ly/1PUwkkC ) Wednesday that Ricardo Dargan had been charged with attempted murder after the Dec. 3 shooting of 40-year-old David Clea.

The report said Clea was treated for a gunshot wound at a Sumter hospital and was released in early January. However, he returned to the hospital two weeks later after suffering complications. The sheriff’s office says Clea died Jan. 31.

Capt. Robert Burnish said Dargan has been held at the Sumter-Lee Regional Detention Center since his December arrest. It wasn’t immediately clear whether Dargan has an attorney.
