CLINTON, La. (AP) - An East Feliciana Parish middle school teacher has been arrested after a parent notified police about “inappropriate” texts with her daughter.

Clinton Police Chief Fred Dunn told The Advocate (https://bit.ly/1JZ43Hf ) Wednesday that 33-year-old Louis Neyland Smith Jr., of St. Francisville, was arrested on one count each of computer-aided solicitation of a minor, indecent behavior with a juvenile and prohibited sexual contact between educator and student.

It was not immediately known whether Smith had an attorney who could comment on the case.

Dunn refused to discuss the girl’s age but said Smith taught eighth grade at East Feliciana Middle School.

Dunn says officers have reviewed texts involving the case from the past week and are investigating whether other youths may have been victimized.
