ASHBURN, Va. (AP) - The Washington Redskins announced they signed defensive lineman Ziggy Hood to a reserve/future contract that begins next season.

Hood played two games for the Chicago Bears last season. He spent one season with the Jacksonville Jaguars and the previous five with the Pittsburgh Steelers.

The 28-year-old out of Missouri has 164 tackles and 12 ½ sacks in his NFL career. His signing gives the Redskins some depth along the defensive front.
