LARAMIE, Wyo. (AP) - Wyoming coach Craig Bohl landed 23 new recruits, including in-state two athletes, for his program on Wednesday.

The class included 11 offensive players, 11 defensive players and one kicker. They consist of 22 high school seniors and one junior college transfer.

The included running back Theo Dawson of Jackson and fullback Zack Taylor of Gillette.

“We feel it is important to identify the top players in our state and be able to sign them,” Bohl said. “We’ve also done well in Colorado again, signing four players.”

Offensively, the 2016 class features three offensive linemen, three running backs/fullbacks, two wide receivers, two tight ends and one quarterback. On defense, five linebackers and five defensive backs were joined by one defensive lineman.

“I think we hit our baselines on filling the needs we have, whether that be signing a quarterback, a couple running backs, some offensive linemen, tight ends, defensive backs, linebackers and a place-kicker,” Bohl said. “We are well pleased the way we spread those scholarships out.”

Besides Wyoming and Colorado, the Cowboys signed players from Arizona, California, Illinois, Iowa, Nebraska, North Dakota, Oklahoma, Oregon and Washington.
