BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) - A two-day conference focusing on local foods is being held in West Fargo this weekend.

The conference is scheduled in conjunction with the 12th annual meeting of the North Dakota Farmers Market and Growers Association on Friday and Saturday at Cambria Hotel and Suites.

State Agriculture Commissioner Doug Goehring says topics this year will include food safety, extending the growing season, business planning and marketing specialty crops.

The state Agriculture Department and the Farmers Market and Growers Association sponsor the conference. The association will hold its annual meeting and banquet Friday night.
