DENVER (AP) - Denver Zoo officials say they will be opening a new tiger exhibit that will give visitors new ways to connect and interact with the animals.

The Denver Post reports (https://dpo.st/1PBzOGD ) the zoo announced Wednesday that the new exhibit, called The Edge, is scheduled to open in June.

Denver Zoo CEO Shannon Block says the new area will look like the edge of a forest to better reflect the tigers’ natural habitat. She says guests will be able to smell and hear the tigers through a perforated wall.

The Edge will provide the three Amur tigers with nearly one full acre of space, almost double the space of the old enclosure.

New features of the exhibit include a dozen 120-year-old pine trees as well as catwalks and bridges.
