PENDLETON, Ore. (AP) - State charges have been dismissed against three men accused of killing another man on Oregon’s Umatilla Indian Reservation as the defendants are to be tried in federal court.

The East Oregonian reports (https://is.gd/7S5BuO ) that federal warrants have been issued for the three men in connection to the Jan. 27 death of Thadd Nelson.

Umatilla County District Attorney Dan Primus has not said what led to federal prosecution.

Police say the investigation into the killing is ongoing.
