HOUSTON (AP) - Alex Hamilton scored 31 points and grabbed nine rebounds and Louisiana Tech extended its winning streak to four with a 90-78 win over Rice in a Conference USA battle Thursday night.

The Bulldogs led by just two at intermission, 36-34, and Rice took the lead with a quick, 8-0 run fueled by a pair of Marcus Evans 3-pointers. LA Tech answered with a 7-0 run of its own highlighted by Jacobi Boykins’ trey.

Evans’ layup gave Rice a 63-59 lead with 8:30 to play, but the Bulldogs found a different gear for the stretch run.

Dayon Griffin dunked and Alex Hamilton converted a three-point play to give LA Tech the lead and start a 17-1 run and the Bulldogs closed the game on an 8-2 run.

Griffin and Erik McCree each added 15 points for LA Tech (17-5, 6-3).

Egor Koulechov scored 20 points to lead Rice (7-15, 2-7).
