EDGEWATER, N.J. (AP) - A judge has agreed to reduce bail for the son of a former aide to New York Mayor Bill de Blasio’s wife accused of fatally stabbing a teenager who apparently tried to rob him.

The Record newspaper reports (https://bit.ly/1PXrJ1a ) Superior Court Judge James Guida agreed to lower 19-year-old Khari Noerdlinger’s bail from $500,000 to $300,000 Thursday.

Noerdlinger is charged with aggravated manslaughter and other charges in the death of 16-year-old Savion Lewallen.

Defense attorney Jeffery Lichtman says his client was attacked and beaten.

Authorities say Lewallen went to Edgewater on Sunday with four accomplices to commit armed robbery. They say the accomplices were taken into custody.

Noerdlinger’s mother, Rachel Noerdlinger, resigned in 2014 after a string of damaging disclosures about her personal life, including Khari’s arrest on trespassing charges.
