BELOIT, Wis. (AP) - Authorities are looking for three men who attacked and shot a Marshfield man in Beloit.

Rock County sheriff’s officials say the 32-year-old victim was on his way to Illinois to visit his girlfriend and got off the interstate in Beloit about 7 p.m. Wednesday. That’s when he encountered three men in a minivan flashing gang symbols.

Sheriff’s investigators say the man tried to lose the minivan, but the men followed him. The Marshfield man eventually stopped, got out of his car and confronted the men. He was struck in the face and shot in the leg.

The man escaped, drove away in his car and called 911. He was treated and released at a Janesville hospital. Authorities are looking for his assailants.
