BROCKTON, Mass. (AP) - A Massachusetts woman whose previous murder conviction was overturned has pleaded guilty to voluntary manslaughter in the 2003 slaying of her boyfriend.

The Enterprise of Brockton reports (https://bit.ly/1UNwzft ) 36-year-old Solange Anestal entered the plea Tuesday in Brockton Superior Court.

The judge sentenced the Brockton woman to 18 to 20 years behind bars, a sentence jointly recommended by prosecutors and the defense. She’s been in custody since 2003, and the time she has already served will count toward her sentence.

Anestal will be deported to her home country of Haiti after her sentence.

Authorities say Anestal stabbed 23-year-old Baby Petitry with a shard of broken glass after they had been arguing.

She was convicted of first-degree murder in 2007, but her conviction was overturned in 2012.
