ORTING, Wash. (AP) - An investigation into a racially charged email sent by a former Orting councilman has determined that the message was an isolated incident and not indicative of a broader issue.

KING-TV reports (https://goo.gl/yjK6ps ) the an outside firm investigated the incident after the city’s only black police officer filed a complaint, saying he was “shocked and upset.” The report released this week says it wasn’t Sam Colorossi’s intent to offend anyone by sending the email.

Colorossi sent the message to police department staff and council members in November. The message included a link to a video titled “Dear White Cops, Do Not Put Your Lives and Careers on the Line Policing Savage Negros.” In the video, a man uses racially charged language and encourages white officers to avoid policing black communities.
