PEARL, Miss. (AP) - State authorities are searching for a parolee who fled the Rankin County Probation and Parole Office after having a revocation hearing related to his Dec. 3 arrest in Hinds County.

The Mississippi Department of Corrections, in a news release Thursday, said 44-year-old Michael Morgan was noticed missing shortly before 11:30 a.m. Authorities say he may have gotten into a four-door gray or silver Acura.

Morgan was on parole for charges of possession of a stolen firearm, a convicted felon in possession of a firearm, violation of traffic ordinances and possession of a controlled substance.

He has multiple convictions in Rankin, Copiah, Hinds and Sunflower counties. He was last paroled on Aug. 4, 2014.

Anyone with information on his whereabouts is asked to call local authorities or MDOC at 662-745-6611.
