TEMPE, Ariz. (AP) - Tempe police say gunshots struck two vehicles being driven on a local street.

Police say nobody was injured when the shots were fired at the vehicles Wednesday evening but that a bullet struck one of the vehicles within inches of one of three young children riding in that vehicle.

Police say both drivers left the area and then called police.

According to police, the vehicles were traveling southbound on the 4600 block of south Kyrene Road between Baseline Road and the U.S. 60 freeway when the shooting occurred.

No arrest has been made.
