MONTPELIER, Vt. (AP) - Vermont Gov. Peter Shumlin and former Gov. Madeleine Kunin are going to be campaigning for Democratic presidential hopeful Hillary Clinton in New Hampshire.

The Thursday visit by Shumlin and Kunin comes less than a week before the Feb. 9 New Hampshire primary.

Clinton’s chief rival for the Democratic vote in New Hampshire is Vermont U.S. Sen. Bernie Sanders.

Shumlin and Kunin, who served as Vermont governor from 1985 through 1991, and many other top Vermont Democrats are backing Clinton over Sanders.

The Burlington Free Press (bfpne.ws/1Qdu7uK) reports Shumlin and Kunin plan to appear together Thursday in Claremont and Lebanon.
