SOUTH CONGAREE, S.C. (AP) - Authorities are looking for a woman who they say lied to police by claiming that her husband broke into her Lexington County home, tied her up and raped her.

South Congaree police said in a news release that Tammy L. Bedenbaugh will face a felony charge of filing a false police report when she is apprehended.

Police say Bedenbaugh’s husband, a truck driver, has proof that he was not in South Carolina on October 27, the day his wife says she was attacked.

Bedenbaugh no longer lives in South Congaree and local authorities believe she may have moved to the Beaufort area.

Investigators are asking anyone with information on the whereabouts of Bedenbaugh to call CrimeStoppers at 1-888-CRIME-SC.
