JUNEAU, Alaska (AP) - The Alaska House majority wants to hear your ideas on ways to address the state’s budget deficit and save the state money.

The Republican-led majority announced Friday that it has set up a toll-free “Idea Line” to hear from Alaskans. Callers do not have to leave their names or contact information.

House Majority Leader Charisse Millett says staff will check the line and type up the messages to share with caucus members.

The Anchorage Republican says this is a time where she believes people really want their voices to be heard. She says there will be an emphasis on the next few weeks, as House subcommittees scour department budgets and work toward making recommendations to the House Finance Committee for its rewrite of the operating budget.

The number is 1-844-414-5949.
