BEATRICE, Neb. (AP) - A new administrator has been announced for the Beatrice State Developmental Center.

Courtney Miller, director of the Department of Health and Human Services Division of Developmental Disabilities, told members of the Legislature’s Health and Human Services Committee Thursday that Megan Gumbel has been selected. She is set to begin her new role as administrator March 15.

The center is a state-run home that has served people with intellectual or developmental disabilities since 1887.

Gumbel currently works for Bethesda Lutheran Communities in Fort Wayne, Indiana, serving as the northeast regional director overseeing Indiana, Michigan, New Jersey and Ohio.
