ASTORIA, Ore. (AP) - The Clatsop County Board of Commissioners has hired a new county manager to replace Scott Somers, who resigned last year.

The Daily Astorian reports (https://goo.gl/T2LzVU) that Cameron Moore, of Illinois, accepted the position this week after being selected by commissioners and other county officials out of three finalists. His employment contract is expected to be approved next week.

Moore will take on his new role with the county starting April 6. His starting salary will be $150,000, which is $13,000 more than Somers’ annual salary.

Moore has nearly three decades of experience in public service administration and economic development.

He has served as the CEO for the Champaign County Regional Planning Commission since 2007. The commission offers development, planning and childhood educational services to local governments.
