WEST DES MOINES, Iowa (AP) - Authorities say a high school teacher was arrested and charged with public exposure after an incident at a West Des Moines mall.

West Des Moines police say 60-year-old Michael Madson, of Des Moines, exposed himself Saturday afternoon to an employee at Valley West Mall.

Madson didn’t immediately return a call Friday from The Associated Press. Online court records don’t list the name of an attorney who could comment on Madson’s behalf.

Des Moines school district spokeswoman Amanda Lewis says Madson has quit his teaching job at Lincoln High School. She says he’d worked for the Des Moines district since 2001.
