DOVER, Del. (AP) - Federal prosecutors are seeking life sentences for the former husband and sister-in-law of a woman fatally shot at a Delaware courthouse.

Prosecutors recommended the sentences for Amy Gonzalez and David Matusiewicz in court papers this week. The two face sentencing along with their mother, 69-year-old Lenore Matusiewicz, later this month. Prosecutors have not yet filed their sentencing memorandum for Lenore Matusiewicz.

All three were convicted of conspiracy and cyberstalking that resulted in the death of David Matusiewicz’s ex-wife, Christine Belford, in 2013. Prosecutors have said the cyberstalking conviction was unprecedented.

Thomas Matusiewicz, father of Gonzalez and David Matusiewicz and husband of Lenore Matusiewicz, fatally shot Belford and a friend in February 2013 before trading gunfire with police and then killing himself.

The shooting followed a bitter yearslong custody battle over the three daughters Belford had with David Matusiewicz.
