GULFPORT, Miss. (AP) - A 54-year-old Gulfport man who took some of the weapons stolen from a Saucier firearms dealer to a drop-off spot has been sentenced to prison for 21 months and fined $1,200.

The Sun Herald reports (https://bit.ly/1NTMMdb) Andre Lattour Young, was sentenced Thursday on a charge of misprision of felony in a federal case involving the theft of 52 firearms from Friendly Pawn and Auto.

Young admitted he accepted money to hide some of guns even though he thought it was suspicious.

U.S. District Judge Sul Ozerden imposed the punishment and ordered a year’s probation.

Young is one of five men prosecuted on charges from the break-in over the weekend of June 6.

Young hid a bag of 19 stolen firearms under mattresses behind a shopping center in Gulfport on June 23.
