DETROIT (AP) - Motown Museum in Detroit is hosting a series of forum events on Fridays in February in celebration of Black History Month.

The event series that begins this Friday seeks to educate attendees about the history of Motown’s involvement in the civil rights movement. The forums will include moderated community dialogue and airings of albums from a spoken word label created by Motown in the 1960s as a platform for black expression and education.

The minimum donation to attend is $5. Attendees will have access to the museum before and after the event.

The event series is being done in partnership with University of Michigan Detroit Center.
