AUGUSTA, Maine (AP) - Police are looking for a man who fled on foot after his car crashed in Manchester after a high-speed police chase.

State Police say a Steven Black, 28, exceeded 100 mph while driving a Pontiac Grand Am on Route 202 in Manchester and fleeing a state trooper. After the trooper broke off pursuit, Winthrop police tried to stop the car on Routes 135 and 2002.

Troopers later found the car crashed into a tree on a camp road near the West Gardiner town line. With the help of a police dog, troopers followed tracks along the shore and on the ice of Cobbossee Lake for more than 5 miles but couldn’t find Black.

Police say Black lives in the Augusta area and is 5‘9” tall and weighs 180 pounds.
