PHOENIX (AP) - A section of U.S. 60 near Superior will be temporarily closed two times next week for a blasting operation that’s part of a project to build a new passing lane and widen roadway shoulders.

Transportation officials say people traveling between Phoenix and Globe should allow for extra traveling time.

The closures will occur between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m. on both Tuesday and Thursday.

During the blasting operation, eastbound traffic will stop east of Superior and westbound traffic will stop west of Miami.
