ARLINGTON, Va. (AP) - The U.S. Coast Guard says a negligible amount of oil remains visible in the Potomac River after oil sheens were spotted earlier this week near Arlington.

Lt. David Ruhlig, an operations section chief with the Coast Guard, says in a statement that responders have been monitoring the sheens on Saturday and have only observed a few spots of oil. The substance has been contained at those locations.

Ruhlig says the amount of oil left in the water is so small it’s been difficult to collect any.

He says the Coast Guard and other responding agencies are continuing to search for the source of the oil.
