DILLON, S.C. (AP) - Dillon County deputies say they have made two arrests in the killing of a North Carolina man whose body was found in a car submerged in the Little Pee Dee River.

Sheriff’s Capt. Cliff Arnette told local media outlets he was not releasing the names of the suspects or the charges against him.

Authorities say they were led to the river last month by a tip and found the body of 30-year-old Jamal Tyree Smith of Rowland, North Carolina.

Arnette says deputies will release more information about the crime later.
