MONTPELIER, Vt. (AP) - The Vermont Fish and Wildlife Board will take public testimony on a proposal to extend the shooting hours for turkey hunting during the spring youth turkey hunt.

The current shooting hours are one half hour before sunrise to noon. The proposal, presented by a citizen, calls for extending the hours to 5 p.m. The spring youth turkey hunt takes place the weekend before the regular May 1-31 turkey hunting season.

The board will hold a public hearing on the proposal on Feb. 23 at 6:30 p.m. at the Whitcomb Jr.-Sr. High School in Bethel.
