GASTONIA, N.C. (AP) - Prosecutors say a fight after a day of drinking led a man to stand up from his wheelchair and shoot and kill his longtime friend in Gastonia.

The Gaston Gazette reports (https://bit.ly/1PdIKQY ) that Anthony Sanders was sentenced to 13 years in prison Friday after accepting a deal and pleading guilty to involuntary manslaughter.

Prosecutors say Sanders was so angry after friend Tony Thompson slapped him in the face after the two spent the day drinking on Nov. 17 that he got out of his wheelchair and followed his friend down the street to shoot him once.

Authorities say no one else in the home called 911, even after the shooting.
