CHEYENNE, Wyo. (AP) - Police say a man wanted in Colorado has been found dead in a south Cheyenne motel room where he had barricaded himself.

His name was not immediately released.

Laramie County Sheriff’s Department spokeswoman Capt. Linda Gesell says in a news release that deputies first made contact with the suspect Friday night to follow up on a lead from the Westminster Police Department.

The release says shots were fired from inside the room when deputies arrived around 9:30 p.m.

The Wyoming Tribune Eagle reports (https://bit.ly/1UTEc45 ) that a bullet grazed a deputy’s hand. The deputy was taken to Cheyenne Regional Medical Center, treated and released.

Gesell said no shots were fired by law enforcement.

After the man cut off negotiations about 2:30 a.m. Saturday, police entered the room and found him dead.
