NEW YORK (AP) - New York City Council Speaker Melissa Mark-Viverito is traveling to New Hampshire to campaign for Hillary Clinton.

Mark-Viverito, a Democrat, will attend campaign rallies and knock on doors for the Democratic presidential hopeful across the state on Saturday.

Mark-Viverito is scheduled to appear with the national president of the SEIU-1199 health workers’ union.

Clinton lags Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders in polls in New Hampshire ahead of Tuesday’s primary. She recorded a close win in this week’s Iowa caucuses.

Mark-Viverito has become a surrogate for Latino voters on the Clinton campaign trail. Mark-Viverito campaigned last year in Nevada for the former secretary of state.

Democratic New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio also has campaigned for Clinton, knocking on hundreds of doors and making campaign calls last weekend in Iowa.
