HOUSTON (AP) - Investigators believe a pedestrian was wearing earbuds when he was hit by a freight train in Houston and killed.

Authorities say the accident happened around midmorning Saturday as the man walked along the tracks in a wooded area.

Houston firefighters say the young man had earbuds in at the time of the accident.

Officials say the train sounded a horn but the man, walking in the same direction as the train was traveling, did not get out of the way.

The victim’s name wasn’t immediately released.
