HICKORY GROVE, S.C. (AP) - A motor vehicle accident in rural York County has claimed the lives of two teenagers and left two others in the hospital.

York County Coroner Sabrina Rast tells local media outlets that those killed were identified as 17-year-old Dominick Galosi and 18-year-old Shemar Byers, both of Gaffney.

The two were pronounced dead at the scene of the accident that happened early Friday afternoon in the Hickory Grove community.

Two other teenagers in the vehicle were transported by helicopter to Spartanburg Regional Medical Center.

The coroner said the SUV that the teenagers were riding in swerved off the road and hit a fence and a tree.
