CHALFONT, Pa. (AP) - Authorities say three teenagers were rescued after falling through ice into a suburban Philadelphia pond.

Officials in Bucks County said the 12- or 13-year-old victims were reported in a large retention basin next to a Chalfont housing development at about 2 p.m. Sunday.

Officer Parker Bullard of New Britain Township police said officers arrived to find one youth being helped out of the water by two people who live nearby.

The other two had climbed on top of a drain grate about 30 feet from shore. Divers swam out to give them life jackets and then rescued them with an inflatable boat.

Bullard said all were taken to hospitals for treatment of hypothermia but “appeared to be OK.” Officials said initial reports of four victims appeared to have been incorrect.
