ALEXANDER, N.D. (AP) - In a story Feb. 6 about a fatal North Dakota crash, The Associated Press reported erroneously that the driver of a GMC Sierra pickup truck was killed in a crash with a GMC Jimmy. It was the Jimmy driver who was killed. The AP also erroneously reported that the Sierra was heading south, when it was heading north, and that the Jimmy struck the Sierra’s passenger-side door, when it was the Sierra that struck the Jimmy’s passenger-side door.

A corrected version of the story is below:

Authorities say man killed in a crash in McKenzie County

Authorities say man killed in a crash in McKenzie County

ALEXANDER, N.D. (AP) - Authorities say a man has been killed in a crash in McKenzie County.

The North Dakota Highway Patrol says a GMC Sierra pickup truck was heading north on an icy U.S. Highway 85 about 18 miles north of Alexander just before 8 a.m. Friday when another driver lost control of his GMC Jimmy. The Jimmy rotated and crossed into the northbound lanes, and was struck on the passenger side by the Sierra. The driver of the Jimmy was killed.

This crash remains under investigation and names had not been released as of Saturday afternoon.
