COUNCIL BLUFFS, Iowa (AP) - Authorities are working to identify a body found inside a Council Bluffs home after firefighters extinguished a fire.

The fire was reported shortly after 5:30 p.m. Saturday.

Fire Chief Justin James says the fire didn’t take long to contain because the fire largely burned itself out.

The body was found in the bedroom where the fire started.

James says authorities are investigation the cause of the fire and the cause of death. Few details were released immediately about the body.

James says he thinks the home was a rental home.
