BEATRICE, Neb. (AP) - The Homestead National Monument is presenting a program on the history of making and giving valentines.

Valentines collector Marcia Rowley will be the speaker at the Feb. 14 event, which is scheduled to begin at 1 p.m. Rowley collects valentines from the 1920s to the 1970s, and most of them were made in Germany and the United States.

The monument sits four miles west of Beatrice, along Nebraska Highway 4.
