BROOKLYN PARK, Minn. (AP) - Authorities say wintry weather played a role in a fatal crash in the northern Twin Cities last week.

Police say Joseph Stephani of Brooklyn Park suffered fatal injuries in the two-vehicle crash Tuesday on eastbound Highway 610 in Brooklyn Park.

The Star Tribune (https://strib.mn/1S9tkRx ) reports Deputy Chief Mark Bruley said Stephani was heading west on Highway 610 when “weather-caused poor road conditions” sent him into eastbound traffic, where he hit another vehicle.

The Hennepin County medical examiner’s office says Stephani died two days later at North Memorial Medical Center in Robbinsdale.

Police say the other driver suffered noncritical injuries.
