LEVITTOWN, N.Y. (AP) - Police have arrested two suspects who punched, kicked and struck a man over the head with an aluminum pipe on Long Island.

Nassau County police say the victim was leaving work at the Escorza Restaurant in Levittown on Friday when the two men approached and assaulted him.

The victim was treated at a hospital and later released.

The suspects were identified as Carlos Alfredo-Rivera and Darwin Noel Caballero. The 20 year olds were arrested on charges of second-degree assault. Caballero was additionally charged with criminal possession of a weapon.

Alfredo-Rivera was arrested at the scene. Police say Caballero surrendered on Monday.

It wasn’t clear if they had lawyers who could comment on their behalf.

This story corrects that the assault occurred on Friday, not Sunday.
