BRIDGEVILLE, Del. (AP) - Delaware State Police say three people escaped injury when someone shot a car while it was traveling in Bridgeville.

It happened about 6:15 p.m. Sunday on Coverdale Road south of Seashore Highway, troopers said in a news release. Police say a woman was driving a car with her husband and 6-year-old daughter as passengers when a car began tailgating her.

Officers say when the car passed the woman’s car, two gunshots came from the suspect vehicle, hitting the woman’s car.

Troopers say as a woman drove from the suspect vehicle, four more shots were fired at her car. The woman was able to drive to the state police Troop 5 barracks for help.

No one in her car was hurt. Two bullet holes were found in the vehicle.
