ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (AP) - A former janitor at a Las Cruces elementary school has pleaded guilty to a federal child pornography charge.

Prosecutors say 32-year-old David Anaya Garcia entered his plea Monday in federal court.

Garcia was arrested last July on a criminal complaint charging him with distribution of child pornography and possession of child pornography.

Las Cruces police and federal authorities arrested Garcia after executing a search warrant at his home.

Garcia was subsequently indicted and charged in the case.

Prosecutors say Garcia admitted to distributing child pornography through file-sharing computer software from March 2015 to April 2015.

At sentencing, Garcia faces up to 20 years in federal prison followed by not less than five years of supervised release and also will be required to register as a sex offender.
