LUMBERTON, N.C. (AP) - The North Carolina Highway Patrol is looking for a driver who hit and killed a teenager near Lumberton over the weekend.

A report by Trooper Chad Covington says 17-year-old Austen Ray Collins was walking along a road about a mile east of town when he was struck and killed about 7:15 p.m. Saturday.

Local media outlets report Collins played football at Fairmont High School.

The driver of the vehicle did not stop. Authorities say they don’t have a description of the vehicle but say it would have damage to the front end.
