LINCOLN, Neb. (AP) - A Doane College biology professor says viral text and images spread by Internet users separate humans from everything else.

The University of Nebraska-Lincoln announced Tuesday that Brad Elder will speak Feb. 10 on high-fidelity Internet memes as part of the SciPop Talks! Series.

SciPop Talks! combines science and popular culture. The series is in its third year of collaboration among University of Nebraska-Lincoln chemistry department, Doane College and the UNL University Libraries. Speakers give interactive 30-minute talks and then take questions. All talks are free and open to the public.

The talk, titled “Memes, you’re doing it wrong,” will be at 7 p.m. in the Adele Hall Learning Commons in Love Library North, 13th and R streets.
